What is a Catholic Multi Academy Trust?

A Multi Academy Trust (MAT) is a group of schools that work together in formal partnership under one shared legal and governance structure. As a Catholic Multi Academy Trust within the Diocese of Westminster, ASCAT exists to:

• Protect and promote the Catholic mission of education.
• Share resources, expertise and leadership across schools.
• Provide strong governance and accountability.
• Ensure that every pupil, regardless of background, has the opportunity to thrive academically, personally and spiritually.

Our Trust operates under the guidance of the Diocese of Westminster Education Service, aligning our work with the Bishop’s vision for Catholic education across the region. This means that while each school retains its unique character and community, all are united in faith, purpose and mission.

 Keeping Our School Communities Safe and Sustainable

As a Multi Academy Trust, ASCAT holds legal responsibility for ensuring that our schools are safe, sustainable, and compliant. We take this duty of stewardship extremely seriously.

We ensure that:

• Safeguarding is robust and consistent across all schools, supported by clear policies, staff training, and external assurance.
• Governance and accountability structures meet all statutory requirements, ensuring transparency and ethical leadership.
• Financial management is sound and sustainable, ensuring resources are used effectively for the benefit of pupils.
• Health, safety, and risk management are overseen centrally to protect pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Environmental responsibility is embedded through sustainable practices that honour our call to care for God’s creation.
