Vision and Values
Our Mission Statement
~ Learning to love, live and celebrate as we grow in the knowledge and love of Christ ~
Our Vision
At St Thomas More, we are a welcoming community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.
Inspired by the Gospel and rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church, we work in partnership with families and our parish communities to help each child grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We believe that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity, unique gifts and limitless potential.
Our vision is that every child leaves St Thomas More with the knowledge, confidence and character to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
Our Values
Our school values of Dignity, Compassion and Perseverance shape everything we do.
Dignity
We recognise the value of every person and strive to ensure that all members of our community are treated with respect, fairness and kindness.
Compassion
We encourage children to care for others, to act with empathy and to recognise their responsibility to support those in need.
Perseverance
We help children develop the confidence and determination to face challenges, learn from mistakes and keep going when things are difficult.
How We Live Our Vision
We put our vision and values into practice by:
- Creating a culture where all are welcome and every child feels a sense of belonging.
- Building strong partnerships between school, home and parish.
- Maintaining high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development.
- Supporting children through positive relationships and a therapeutic approach to behaviour.
- Providing a rich curriculum and a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom.
- Promoting leadership, service and responsibility through opportunities to contribute to school and wider community life.
- Helping children develop spiritually through prayer, worship and reflection.
- Teaching children to recognise and respond to injustice through the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
"You are the light of the world... let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
